AOHAKKA INK (AOHAKKA) is a small indie studio where we create animations and original comics. We're passionate about telling stories through art, whether for our own projects or collaborations with clients!

Heya! I'm Melo, the founder of AOHAKKA INK. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Animation in 2024, and since then I've been working as a freelance illustrator and animator.

TERMS OF SERVICE

NOTE:
By commissioning my services, the client confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service.

1. General

  1. Commissions are custom made digital works created based on the client’s request. This includes, but is not limited to, illustrations, animations, storyboards, character designs, and other visual media.

  2. By commissioning my services, the client confirms that they are at least 18 years old or have permission from a legal guardian.

  3. I reserve the right to accept or decline any commission request for any reason, including but not limited to scheduling conflicts, content concerns, or lack of compatibility with my art style.

  4. The client is responsible for providing a clear, detailed, and accurate brief, including references, descriptions, deadlines (if any), and intended usage. Vague or incomplete briefs may result in delays or additional revision fees.

  5. Any information, references, or materials provided by the client are assumed to be owned by the client or used with proper permission. I am not responsible for copyright issues arising from materials supplied by the client.

  6. I will not be held responsible for dissatisfaction caused by miscommunication, unclear instructions, or late responses from the client.

  7. These Terms of Service are subject to change at any time. Any updates to these Terms of Service will not affect commissions that have already been paid for.

2. Payment

  1. Payment must be made in full upfront or 50% upfront (deposit) before work begins, depending on the agreement. The remaining balance (if applicable) must be paid before the final files are delivered.

  2. Payments are non-refundable once the commission has started, unless the commission is canceled by me.

  3. Any additional fees will be discussed and approved before proceeding.

3. Revisions

  1. The number of free revisions included in a commission will be clearly stated before work begins.

  2. Free revisions are limited to minor adjustments only, such as small color corrections, facial expression tweaks, or minor detail refinements.

  3. Major revisions are not included in free revisions. This includes, but is not limited to, changes to the overall concept, pose, composition, character design, outfit, background, animation timing, or storyline direction.

  4. Any request that deviates significantly from the original approved brief will be considered a new request and may require additional fees or a new commission.

  5. Revision requests must be submitted clearly and in a single message whenever possible to avoid miscommunication.

  6. Excessive or repeated revision requests caused by changes in client preference (not artist error) may result in additional charges.

  7. Revisions requested after the final files have been delivered may be declined or subject to additional fees, depending on the scope of changes.

  8. No revisions will be accepted once the commission is marked as completed and approved by the client.

4. Timeline

  1. An estimated turnaround time will be provided after the commission is confirmed.

  2. Timelines may change due to revisions, queue order, or unpredicted situations. Clients will be notified accordingly.

  3. Clients are expected to respond to messages and updates to avoid delays.

5. Cancellation

  1. Once the commission has started, the client may not cancel the order.

  2. If the client chooses to cancel the commission one-sidedly after work has begun, all payments made are non-refundable.

  3. If the client becomes unresponsive for 21 days without prior notice, the commission will be considered abandoned. In such cases, the commission may be canceled, and all payments made will be forfeited.

  4. I reserve the right to cancel a commission if the client repeatedly fails to communicate, violates these Terms of Service, requests prohibited content, or behaves in a disrespectful or abusive manner.

  5. If I cancel the commission due to my own inability to complete the work, the client will receive a full or partial refund depending on the amount of work completed at the time of cancellation.

  6. Refunds, if applicable, will be processed using the original payment method and may take time depending on the platform or payment provider.

6. Copyright & Usage

6.1 COPYRIGHT OWNERSHIP

  1. All commissioned works remain the intellectual property and copyright of the artist, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Commissioning a work does not transfer copyright ownership to the client.

6.2 PERSONAL USE COMMISSIONS

  1. Personal commissions are intended for non-commercial use only.

  2. The client may use the artwork for personal purposes such as profile pictures, personal social media posts, wallpapers, or personal archiving.

  3. The artwork may NOT be used for profit, monetization, merchandise, promotion, or any commercial activity.

6.3 COMMERCIAL USE COMMISSIONS

  1. Commercial commissions grant the client limited usage rights solely for the agreed commercial purpose.

  2. Commercial usage includes, but is not limited to: monetized content, branding, merchandise, promotional materials, VTuber assets, games, animations, or advertisements.

  3. The artist retains the right to reuse, display, and promote the work for portfolio, self-promotion, and marketing purposes.

  4. Any use beyond the originally agreed scope requires additional permission and may be subject to extra fees.

6.4 AI, NFT, AND DATASET RESTRICTIONS

  1. The commissioned artwork may not be used for AI related purposes, including but not limited to training datasets, machine learning models, image generation, or data scraping.

  2. The artwork may not be minted, sold, or distributed as NFTs, blockchain assets, or similar technologies.

  3. Uploading the artwork to any platform or service that claims ownership, training rights, or data usage over the artwork is strictly prohibited!

6.5 PROHIBITED CLAIMS & REDISTRIBUTION

  1. Clients may not claim the artwork as their own creation.

  2. Removing watermarks, signatures, or credits without permission is not allowed.

  3. Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing the artwork to third parties without consent is strictly prohibited.

7. Credit & Portfolio Use

  1. I reserve the right to display commissioned works in my portfolio and on social media unless prior privacy is requested.

  2. Proper credit to me as the artist is appreciated when the artwork is shared publicly. For the credit, you may link:

8. Prohibited Content

  1. I do not accept commissions that include:

  • Illegal content

  • Extreme sexual or fetish content

  • Hate speech, discrimination, or excessive violence

  • Content that infringes on third-party copyrights

  1. You're welcome to repost my animations if you make modifications like dubbing, AMVs, or similar edits :D

  2. Do not reupload my animation as is without any changes!

  3. Either way, please give proper credits!

✦ COMIC / ILLUSTRATION ✦

  1. You’re allowed to repost screenshots of my comics or illustrations as long as you give proper credit.

  2. However, for comics, don’t full reuploads outside of the platforms where I originally posted them.

2. Fanarts

I'm totally open to fanarts! I’d be really happy if you want to draw my original characters! Don’t forget to tag me if you do so I can find it and maybe feature it on my webcomics! :D
